It is a key part of the Government’s vision aimed at boosting the region’s economy and supporting the growth of smaller businesses (SMEs) between 2018 and 2023.
The Government firmly believes that SMEs form the foundation of the region’s future growth. CIOSIF therefore aims to nurture regional entrepreneurship by providing investment and support for small businesses between 2018 and 2023. CIOSIF’s funding will support new and growing SMEs, create jobs and encourage and attract additional private-sector investment.
As part of the British Business Bank, CIOSIF also aims to drive sustainable growth and prosperity across the UK, and to enable the transition to a net zero economy, by supporting access to finance for smaller businesses.
We offer two different funding options to help your business grow. These investment options are designed to plug common gaps in the provision of finance, giving your business access to the funding it needs.
CIOSIF funding is drawn from several sources including the UK Government and the European Regional Development Fund, including an allocation from the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (CIOS LEP).
CIOSIF has appointed fund managers who are responsible for evaluating applications and allocating funds to businesses. Their work is complemented by dedicated CIOSIF staff who work with local business support providers in the LEP area, including the Growth Hub.
